How to Become an Actuary in India
Becoming an actuary in India requires clearing actuarial exams conducted by the Institute of Actuaries of India (IAI)
Target Audience: This program is specifically designed for students who have recently completed their Class XII and have strong skills in mathematics, reasoning, and quantitative analysis.Preference will be given to students currently in their first or second year of an undergraduate program in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Data Science, Economics, or Commerce, as well as those pursuing a B. Tech degree. Participants should aim to clear all Core Principles papers within three years.
Curriculum Plan for 2025-26: For the academic year, we will concentrate on the CS1, CM1, and CB2 courses, aiming for the November 2025 and May 2026 exams of the Institute of Actuaries of India (IAI).
We will focus on strengthening theoretical concepts, and practical applications and problems will be thoroughly discussed during our problem-solving sessions.
Classes will be conducted in a hybrid format: in-person sessions will occur on Saturdays and Sundays by expert faculties supported by mentors, while online problem-solving discussions will take place in scheduled sessions during the weekdays.
To effectively prepare students for the IAI / IFoA examinations, we will provide focused coaching and training sessions. Furthermore, we will conduct regular mock tests and practice sessions to help build students' confidence and enhance their exam-taking skills.
Faculties: Expert external faculties in IAI and Actuarial Fellows /Associates. Postgraduate mentors will handle the problem-solving sessions both offline and online.
Mentorship and Guidance: Students will be assigned mentors to provide personalized guidance and support throughout their academic journey. Mentors will assist students in navigating their educational journey, preparing for university and IAI exams within the designated timeframe, and developing professional skills.
Industry network: We have robust connections within the industry, allowing students to pursue internships during their fourth year of the undergraduate program. Talented and motivated students will have the opportunity to complete their undergraduate degree with honours through research in collaboration with their chosen industry.
Online Program: There will be a separate online program for distant students and working individuals.
